Click Travel prides itself on its employee perks and benefits; from offering employees additional purchased leave, to receiving travel discounts and a packed social events calendar.

Flexible working has always been present among the many benefits offered by the company, with over 70% of employees either working part-time/flexible hours or working from home on a regular basis.

This month Click has taken another step forward with flexible working, introducing flexible working requests from day one of employment, rather than after 26 weeks, supporting CIPD’s Flex from 1st campaign.

What does this mean for Click?

Click has grown by an average 20% a year over the 5 years up to 2020 and could not have done so without the exceptionally talented work of its employees.

“We believe that offering flexible working as a day one right widens talent pools for recruitment, ensuring we’re in the market for the best possible candidates”, says Jess Pewton, Senior HR Advisor, adding “Flexible working also contributes to our continuously high staff retention rate, by allowing employees to work around any external responsibilities. Focusing on the output of their work rather than the hours they spend doing it”.

Click currently has a fairly even split from male (44%) to female (56%) employees, with both genders present in management and senior leadership roles.

“Committing to the flex from the 1st campaign helps make further steps towards equality, and reducing the gender pay gap, by allowing working parents or carers to manage their work around additional responsibilities. Flexible working can also support employees who may be suffering from any health conditions, which is particularly relevant to the increased risk of mental health problems as a result of Covid-19.”

Click has been named in the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to work for 7 years running, which the employer strongly associates to their commitment to employee engagement including flexible working opportunities. Click on offers, flexible working creates a positive working culture, increases productivity and motivation whilst reducing stress and burn out.

We asked our employees what they thought about flexible working at Click:

“At Click, I never feel like I am just a number, I feel really valued and supported. Working from home can be a daunting role for some, but not at Click – I never feel I am alone.”

George Tanner, Senior Customer Support Representative

I love the freedom Click gives me to be myself at work and with our customers. Our flexible working means I can take my Daughter to school every morning, which means a lot to her. As long as I deliver what our customers need, everyone is happy.
